David Jones notes
3 Pronounce dal-ree-adda, accent on ad. I follow the present Scottish pronunciation as told to me by a native of Dumbarton.
There was a kingdom of Dalriada on the Irish side also; indeed it was the invasions of the Dalriad Scots from Ireland that gave the names Scotland and Dalriada to parts of northern Britannia.
additional notes
a Aldasa: Ailsa Craig, in the Firth of Clyde.
b Goat Fell is the highest point of the island of Arran.
c Clota: Clyde.
