1 Cf. the senatorial decree of July 9, 13 BC, authorizing the building of the Altar of Peace on the Field of Mars at Rome to commemorate the conclusion of war in the West and to symbolize the Augustan pacification of the World. There have been Temples of Peace built in our time also.
